Personal Skills for Professional Success
Exceptional personal skills lead to improved communication, self
management, and better responses to today’s challenges.
Professional success requires not only technical competence but also the
ability to gather information, analyze, reach conclusions and sell
ideas. All of this must be done in a timely fashion, sometimes
dealing with managers who do not appreciate the auditor or are openly
hostile.
Participants will learn proven techniques to enhance their
professional and personal lives through participative lecture and
exercises.
Topics addressed include:
- Defining personal and professional success
- Enhancing listening skills
- Non-verbal behavior and the audit professional
- Techniques for self-management
- Emotional control
- Motivation of self and others
- Dealing with difficult situations and difficult people
- What’s going on with thinking, management and audit practices
- Change and the auditor
- Improving audit communications
- Selling audit findings and ideas
